New Date Announced for Style in the City

Style in the City has decided to re-schedule from April to 24th-26th September 2009.

In order to give everyone involved greater opportunities to make Style in the City 2009 the resounding success it deserves to be, we unanimously decided to reschedule the event for September 24th - 26th to coincide with the strongest fashion season of the year and follow on from the excitement and buzz generated by London Fashion Week.

Kevin Breese, Board Member of Retail Birmingham, added: “The Autumn/Winter season is absolutely critical in Birmingham, especially now that it comes at the same time as our annual retail Oscars, Style Birmingham Awards. It really is the one time of the year when all eyes are on fashion. We fully support the move to September and are confident that this is the right decision.”

All other elements of the event will be exactly the same, including the recently launched search for the ‘Midlands Designer of the Future’, the winner of which will see their own original design emblazoned across the 2009 event shopping bags. The deadline for the competition has been extended to the July 1st, giving budding Stella McCartneys and Christopher Kanes even more time to hone and submit their designs.

We look forward to seeing you there!
